Steven Marchese founded Authentic Strategies on the principle that each person deserves to achieve his or her maximum career potential and grounded in the belief that practical wisdom can lead to positive results.  Real issues.  Real people.  Real strategies.
 
Steve brings to his work over 16 years of experience in the legal profession.  A 1993 graduate of New York University School of Law, Steve draws on a broad base of experiences, including:
 
  • director of the Career and Professional  Development Center at the University of Minnesota Law School
  • practicing attorney at Dykema Gossett (Michigan), Harter, Secrest and Emery (New York) and Larson King (Minnesota)
  • law clerk to Justice Charles Levin of the Michigan Supreme Court and Judge Wayne Alley of the federal district court in Oklahoma
  • full-time legal writing faculty at Syracuse University College of Law

 

Steve has been an active leader in local and national career development organizations, including service as chair of the Recruitment Practices Advisory Group for NALP (the Association for Legal Career Professionals) and vice-president of the Minnesota Legal Career Professionals.  He has presented at national conferences on legal career development and advised hundreds of law students and lawyers on how to best manage their professional careers.

 

Steve is a member of the Ramsey County and Minnesota State Bar Associations (MSBA) and currently serves as a member of the MSBA's Legal Assistance to the Disadvantaged Committee.  He  is a former commissioner of the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission and currently serves on the board of directors of Community Shares Minnesota.  He received his BA from Yale University in 1988.
